Collaborations

Changhua Chamber Music Society was founded in 2023 by young violinists Meng Hsiang-Yu and Chen Pei-Wu Derek, both natives of Changhua County, Taiwan, having grown up respectively in Yuanlin City and Changhua City. After graduating from high school, they traveled to the United States to pursue their musical studies and later attended the Peabody Institute together.

While living abroad, they often reflected on the beauty of their hometown and the musical education that first inspired them. These experiences not only shaped their artistic perspectives, but also deepened their emotional connection to Changhua. Believing strongly in music’s ability to provide comfort, inspiration, and human connection, they became determined to bring that artistic energy back to their community and to promote classical music throughout Changhua.

Today, the organization continues to expand its activities beyond Changhua, creating performances and educational events that connect Western classical music with Taiwanese local culture, while making high-quality chamber music experiences accessible to broader audiences.
